Michaela Akers
The daughter of a painter, I lived in Paris for some years. I met Picasso during that time, but rather than developing a desire to paint abstractly, I trained myself to paint to a high degree of realism. To the inner most part of me, art is a language, and as the "Divine Child" artist paints, harmonies are born and the language becomes a Song of Love and Light.

I use Scratch board or Clay board as well as Pencil, Oil, Inks, Acrylic and Colored Pencil. I research my subject matter extensively to ensure that historical and proportional aspects are correct.

Über meine Kunst

It's not Picasso, it's not Cubism, it's - Reflexionism

Exploring an artwork’s background in terms of its physical (material, shape, color), mental (knowledge, information) and emotional dimension (musical accompaniment), and reflecting those meanings together and in depth – that’s what Reflexionism is all about. The artist starts with a theme, collects pertinent material, makes a mental concept, and this triggeres the creative process of visualization.

In other words, the essence is to imagine a specific theme’s philosophy of shape. By this means, the human observer should be stimulated to communicate with the artwork in a way that allows him or her to find deeper aspects of his or her dreams, perceptions, and personality.

To the artist, creating e.g. the ‚Grand Cycles’ meant something like writing a thesis: To express philosophical entities in terms of color and shape. A lengthy virtual creative process precedes the actual realization of the picture. This is complemented by a special blend of background music, which assists the artist’s mental process of visualization and, most importantly, the creative act itself.

Enjoy the results of this process.

About the artist: Irma received her Ph.D. 1993 from the University of Graz, Austria. Painting has been a lifelong pursuit of hers. While studying in Graz and in Vienna, she started activities as an artist with charcoal, verre eglomise technique, collages, installations and  acrylics with mixed media in her leasure time. She visited museums and galleries all over the world, reviewing and studying all types of art.
